Frequently asked questions • justgoodspecs.com

Ordering

What do I need to place and order with justgoodspecs.com?

All you need to place an order with us is your prescription. Simply have your eyes tested and enter your prescription details once you have chosen your frame.

How do I obtain my prescription?

Your optician must give you a copy of your prescription following your eye test. It is important that you also ask your optician to include the P.D. (pupillary distance) measurement for both distance and near.

How can you charge such low prices?

Simple, we have far fewer overheads than a high-street optical practice and with over 30 years experience in the optical profession we have global suppliers offering us the very best prices for our own ranges of frames and lenses as well as most top designer ranges.

Lenses

Do you sell prescription sunglasses and other tinted lenses?

Yes, we have a range of tints to choose from or you can have the lenses made with a photo-chromatic material (this type of lens is clear in normal lighting conditions but darkens in sunlight).

What about lens coatings?

We offer a number of different lens coatings:

  • Anti-reflective coating
  • Anti-reflective hard coating
  • Anti Scratch coating (free)
  • Mirrored lenses
What about varifocal and bifocal?

We do sell bifocal lenses however due to the complexity of measuring someone for varifocal lenses these can only be provided when we have direct contact with the patient. Your local optician will be delighted to offer you advice and guidance, and remember you can still take advantage of our low costs by buying the frame from us and taking it to them to be glazed with your varifocals.

Your Prescription

Can I use my contact lens prescription for ordering glasses with you?

No: there may be a slight difference between the two prescriptions, therefore only an up-to-date spectacle prescription will do.

Support

What do I do if realise I have provided the wrong information?

Telephone or e-mail us immediately as we begin processing your order as soon as we receive it.

Where do I go if my frames require to be adjusted after I get them?

For total peace of mind we offer an Optical Adjustment Voucher in the Accessories section which you can take along to your nearest Optical Practice and exchange for the Professional Fitting of your new spectacles ensuring you can have complete confidence when purchasing your spectacles online.

Is there a guarantee with my spectacles?

Yes, we provide a unconditional, 14-day, money back guarantee on your new your spectacles starting from the date we post them to you. If you are in any way unhappy with your spectacles then simply return them to us and we will give you a refund or exchange them for a similar pair to the same value.

Please note that we do not provide refunds on postage and packing costs.

Is the payment page secure?

All pages from the point at which your delivery details are taken right up until your order has been confirmed as successful operate over a secure (SSL) connection.

justgoodspecs.com uses industry-standard SSL to encrypt the data sent from your web browser to our server and vice versa (so that it cannot be eavesdropped), and also so that you can be sure that the site your are giving your details to really is justgoodspecs.com

When on a secure page, you will see a padlock symbol in your browser (the exact location is dependent upon the browser you use: most place it either in the address bar, or in the status bar at the bottom of the window). Clicking or double-clicking the padlock should present you with our SSL digital certificate. You should check that the ‘Common name’ is ‘www.justgoodspecs.com’ (and that this is the address in your, browser's address bar), and also that the certificate was issued to ‘Duncan & Todd Ltd’ in Aberdeen.

Other

Can I order frames with no prescription lenses in them?

Yes, just specify on the prescription form that you do not require lenses. As opticians we are fully aware that ordering bifocals, varifocals or very complex lenses on the internet is extremely risky and we have made the professional decision not to offer this service until 100% reliable technology is available. Most opticians will be delighted to provide lenses to any frame purchased from us, simply arrange an appointment for a sight test and take the frame with you, or if you already have a prescription most practices will have dispensing staff available who will look after you without arranging an appointment.
